Daniella screamed when Marcus suddenly cupped her breasts. It was so sudden that she was surprised when his calloused hand was immediately inside her blouse while he kissed her lips. The way he kissed her was rough and it wasn’t what she had expected from him, but it aroused her senses. Everyone in the house was present during lunch as Daniella informed them that it was a farewell lunch for Marcus. He was seated beside his wife and he wanted to hold her hand for the last time but he got scared away. “Sir Marcus, will you come back on Miss Ella’s due date?” Patty was curious to know. Marcus didn’t know how to answer Patty’s question so he looked at Daniella and requested backup. Marcus stared at the app he downloaded recently and if it was accurate, Daniella could be in the hospital, suffering labor pains, while he was just in Hacienda Velasquez. He paced back and forth in his apartment like he was the one to give birth. He reminded himself that there was a slim chance that he was not the one who impregnated Daniella. “Uncle Marcus!” Matthew shouted when Marcus didn’t open the door when he already knocked several times. “Matt! What are you doing here?” The child’s voice almost ruined his eardrum. “Is there something wrong?” Marcus asked when he noticed that Matthew looked upset. “I hate them!” He shouted his reply. Marcus pursed his lips upon hearing the child’s outburst. Matthew was Samuel’s youngest son, and unlike his older brother, Carter, Matthew was like an open book. Both of the men were testing their strengths like bulls when Jessica came into the kitchen. “Stop it, now! Samuel, are you out of your mind?” She scolded her husband for putting Marcus in a tight spot. “Sorry, sweetheart. I just wanted him to move on,” Samuel answered. Jessica agreed with her husband. It had been a long time since his wife passed away. “Sam was right, Marcus. I think it’s already overdue that you fixed your life. I mean, go on a date, find someone, and get married. Do you think that Veronica will be happy with what you did with your life? If I was in her shoes, I will be mad for sure. If she loved you, she wouldn’t want it that you’ll be alone for the rest of your life.” Jessica gave a piece of lengthy advice to the hardened man. Marcus was speechless and remembered Veronica’s good heart but he was confused and torn. He felt guilty that in his heart, there was also a space for Daniella. It was around four in the morning when Daniella started to feel some cramps near her abdomen, groin, and back. She felt like she had severe dysmenorrhea and at the same time, it felt like she was constipated. She got up from her bed to call on Patty who was soundly sleeping in the extra bed that was in her room since Marcus was gone. “What’s wrong, Miss Ella?” Patty rubbed her eyes as soon as she heard Ella call for her name. When she saw her massaging her back as she continued to wince in pain, Patty realized that the time has come when Mugsy would see the outside world. “Take a deep breath and relax,” Patty suggested. Daniella’s room was equipped with an intercom and Patty immediately dialed Peter’s room and informed him to get ready because they were going to the hospital. Patty assisted Daniella to go down the stairs when everyone was up and wait for them excitedly. Patty could tell from their faces that they were also excited to see Mugsy. Paloma excused herself and let her daughters talk and share their stories. She couldn’t ask for more. Seeing Daniella and Lilian being comfortable with each other was more than enough to make her happy and contented. At first, she was angry when she learned that Lilian was pregnant and the father was unknown. But no matter how angry she could get, the situation couldn’t be undone, and it seemed that Lilian and Daniella were pregnant at the same time. Between the two women, Paloma chose to stay with Lilian because she was alone. Daniella had Patty and Thalia and the rest of the staff look into her. For the few months that Paloma has stayed on the island, she came to know her daughter very well. Lilian was a good woman but her heart was full of hatred and envy and it was her fault. Marcus and Samuel were watching Golden State Warriors versus Cleveland Cavaliers when a parcel was delivered. It must be the result of the paternity test and Marcus got excited to open the envelope. “What the fuck…” he cursed and tore the paper into tiny little pieces. “Marcus, what’s wrong?” Samuel was alarmed when Marcus was mad and tore the papers that he just received via courier. “Why did she make me believe that I was Mugsy’s father when I’m not?” He informed Marcus about the result of the paternity test. Marcus won, and Samuel couldn’t be happy about it because of the additional condition that was set on whoever won. “But then, what’s the big deal? Being a single mother was not an easy task, Daniella complained. Paloma suggested hiring a nanny for AJ but she insisted on taking care of her daughter personally. Call it insecurities or whatever, but she didn’t want AJ to be accustomed to a nanny. During the daytime, AJ and Vanessa usually played outside and watched chuchu tv after.
