CHAPTER 65

On the night before his scheduled arrival, Daniella found it hard to sleep. Her heart was very excited to see him again and it was beating hard like a drum. It was almost midnight when she was forced to close her eyes and sleep.

She was almost lost in oblivion when her phone rang and although she was sleepy, she still answered the call. “Yes?”

“Guess who?”

Her sleepiness was instantly gone and she sat upright to talk with the caller. “Where have you been? I couldn’t reach you for a few days,” she asked.

Daniella was transparent and frank and those were some of the qualities Marcus adored in her. He didn’t have to guess because she would always let him know if she was happy, sad, or angry. “Can you do something for me, sweetheart?” He ordered Daniella to go to the huge acacia tree near the greenhouse to pick up something that he probably dropped in there.
