Paloma and Philip rushed to the district hospital where Lilian was taken, and while on the way, they were anxious and uneasy. “Let me drive the car for you,” Philip offered as he noticed that her hands were shaking and she was nervous behind the wheel. “No, I can manage. Gerald waited until they reached home before he confronted Alicia about the kiss. He was too furious and humiliated at the same time when Alicia caused the scene at Daniella’s house. He went there with good intentions as Daniella’s friend, but Alicia did something horrible. “How did you know her husband?” He started by asking how she got acquainted with Marcus Madrigal. “Oh, we used to work together on the farm.” Alicia crossed her legs as soon as she was seated on an upholstered sofa. “You used me!” Gerald accused the woman of using his hospitality to be close to Daniella’s boyfriend. After their fight, Marcus took Daniella towards the greenhouse, a special place to calm down her raging desire to scratch his eyes. “Can you trust me to deal with Alicia?” He asked before they sat down on a bench that was customized to be placed near her workstation for flower arrangement. “To be honest, I’m not sure if I can trust you with it. Maybe you should just let me handle your affair,” she offered. Just the thought of Daniella confronting or challenging Alicia made him shiver. “Or maybe we should set a date for our wedding to stop Alicia from taking me away from you,” he counteroffered. “Do you think that a wedding ceremony can stop her? If I am in her shoes, no ceremony can stop me from claiming what belongs to me, and in one or another, she and I are so alike!” She responded. Her response didn’t make him happy. Daniella ran towards Lilian’s room and she was surprised to see Philip Madrigal and Edwin Sanchez together with Paloma in the lobby. “Good evening everyone,” she greeted them. “Ella! I’m glad that you’re here! Can you talk with Lilian? The brat refused to see us!” Paloma expressed her frustrations that Lilian didn’t give her the chance to correct her mistake. Her daughter wouldn’t even let her speak even a single word! Daniella nodded and proceed inside. “Lil? Are you awake?” She asked as soon as she closed the door behind her but Lilian didn’t respond right away. She waited patiently until she stirred from her bed and opened her eyes. “Ella…,” she whispered her sister’s name before Lilian let her tears flow freely. What she learned today was heartbreaking and she wasn’t strong enough to bear the sad news. It had been days already since she was discharged from the hospital but Lilian continued to be distant from her parents. Paloma's mother pressured her to accept and acknowledge the presence of Philip Madrigal, but she just couldn’t do it! Not yet… As she was alone in the living room and had no one to talk to, she got herself occupied by staring at the beautiful paintings on the wall, and she was mesmerized for the nth time that everything in Daniella’s house was perfect and well-designed, but she missed her less complicated life in the island. She was temporarily out of her mind and Alicia scolded herself for losing focus on her ultimate goal to take Marcus away from Daniella. From the window of the inn she was staying, she admired the exquisite view of the countryside. Last night, something terrible almost happened between her and Gerald’s father, and she didn’t know if she had to thank Edwin for being able to control his desire when he kicked her out of his house afterward. Her nostrils flared as she recalled that embarrassing moment when she almost gave her body to that man and he had the nerve to humiliate her! “Hello my love,” Daniella greeted the newcomer who was surprised to see her there, calmly sitting in one of the chairs. “Surprise!” She jested, but her eyes shot daggers at the man whom she trusted but only betrayed her! “Dani, it’s not what you think.” Marcus tried to explain that he didn’t visit Alicia for something else but to help her, however, Daniella refused to listen and the way she looked at him – means the end.
