CHAPTER 25 (BROKEN HEARTED PRINCE)

XAVIER'S POV

I was stunned once again today as I heard the crack in Abigail's voice as she spoke.

"Mother warned me, she said it was all a misunderstanding and I was never fit for a prince but I still held on to my hopes that one day you would see how I felt for you. But after all, I have done for you! After all I have passed through for your sake you still never found me worthy," Abigail said.

This time when she spoke, there was no anger in her voice and her eyes. All that was left there was pain. Too much pain.

The only time I had ever seen Abigail in such pain in all the times we had known each other was when she had opened up to me and narrated how she had found her father's head in a box.

"Abigail..." I called softly, moving forward my arms outstretched reaching for her but she shifted back, lurking behind the door, using it as a shield between us.

"Don't touch me, Xavier! Don't! Not with those hands which you have caressed your bride," Abigail said.
