CHAPTER 43: SERPENTS VALLEY

Zander's ears detected dozens of hooves galloping their way. He didn't need to see it to know that they were outnumbered.

Dimitri was still yelling at the top of his voice, appealing for his comrades to run, but Zander knew they had nowhere to go. They would have to stay and fight. A tsunami of dust emerged from the thick bushes making it problematic to discern who was sheltering behind it.

The men stood their ground. Their instincts still screamed for them to protect the women.

In the deadly atmosphere, the vibrations of the moving hooves came to a halt.

The dust clouds slowly started to dissipate. Everyone held their breaths as they waited eagerly to catch a glimpse of their rivals.

Zander was the first to make out his opponents. Standing before them were men, really tall men, maybe 7 or 8 ft with their bare chests on display.
