CHAPTER ONE

Six years old Dante watched as his home was destroyed and his parents slaughtered in front of him.

He clenched his fists as he watched everything from his little hiding place, he saw Alpha Terrence of Crystal moon pack torture his father mindlessly and rape his mother brutally before killing her in front of his father.

He saw his father screaming in pain and begging for death.

Alpha Terrence had urinated on his father before finally killing him.

"Burn down the whole pack." he ordered his pack members.

"Dante, we have to go baby." his nanny told him, she had found his hiding place.

"Everything is gone." he told her tearfully.

"I know, but we are alive and when there is life there is hope. You are the Alpha now, crimson moon pack will survive, now let's go. There are others who escaped as well, they are waiting for us." she told him.

Dante looked back at the bodies of his parents.

"I will avenge you someday, one day Alpha Terrence will know what it feels like to feel this pain." he said resolutely.

twenty years later...

"Happy birthday Ruby." Alpha Terrence told his beloved daughter as he handed her a present.

Ruby took the present from him and opened it, it was a beautiful ruby necklace. She gasped at it's intricate beauty.

"It's beautiful daddy, thank you." she said.

"Anything for my beautiful Ruby." he told her.

"I love you daddy."

"I love you too Ruby, now get ready and come downstairs for the party."

"okay daddy."

Alpha Terrence kissed her forehead and left the room.

Ruby put on the necklace and admired herself in the mirror, today was her eighteenth birthday. She was excited for two reasons;

Firstly, she was finally an adult.

Secondly, she would finally meet her mate.

At eighteen, every wolf would meet their mate, Ruby couldn't wait, she wondered if her mate would be in the pack.

Ruby had dreamed of her mate since she was little. She imagined he was her prince charming, he would sweep her off her feet and they would live happily ever after.

Ruby hoped her match would be like that of her parents, her parents had the perfect life and she hoped hers would be like that.

She put on the dress and admired herself in the mirror.

"You are beautiful Ruby." she told herself.

She styled her hair and put on some makeup then she admired herself again in the mirror and blew a kiss to her reflection before she left the room.

As she made her way down the stairs, someone started the happy birthday song, she smiled in happiness.

She got downstairs and was presented with a beautiful cake. "Make a wish and blow out the candles love." her mother said.

'I wish I meet my mate soon' Ruby wished within herself and blew out the candles.

"What did you wish for sweetie?" her dad asked.

"It's a secret." she said.

"Well I am sure everyone knows the wish of an eighteen year old werewolf." her mother said with a teasing smile.

"Mom!"

Everyone burst into laughter at the interaction between the mother and daughter.

The party was in full swing when Ruby perceived a sweet scent. 'mate' her inner wolf kept screaming inside.

Ruby looked around, her heart beating very quickly. Her mate was close, she could feel it.

"Ruby, what is it?" her mother asked in concern.

"My mate is close, I can feel it." she replied.

"oh my goddess, who could it be?" her mother asked in excitement.

Suddenly there was a loud scream, something rolled inside. It stopped at Ruby's leg. She looked down and screamed, it was the head of one of the sentry guards.

"what is this?" Alpha Terrence asked in shock.

Several more heads rolled inside, it was the heads of all the sentry guards on duty. There was a line of blood trailing behind each of the heads. It had obviously been freshly beheaded.

Ruby was very scared, what was going on?

Then they came in, from a glance, Ruby could see that they weren't friends of the pack.

"Who are you? And how dare you barge into here?" alpha Terrence asked.

A man wearing a mask stepped forward, from his composure Ruby guessed he was the leader.

"kill them all except the Alpha and his family." the man ordered.

"You can't do this, the rest of my warriors will be here soon." Alpha Terrence said.

"They are dead." the man informed him passively.

"What! How!" Alpha Terrence sputtered in shock.

"A little poison in their wine cellar was enough to end them. We delivered the wine on your behalf of course to celebrate your daughter's birthday. They were glad and eager to consume your gift." he told the king.

"You Bastard! What do you want?"

"Don't worry, everything will be revealed in due time." he replied.

He turned to the rest, "kill them all."

Ruby and her parents were tied up and made to watch as the rest of the pack who were at the party were all killed. No one was spared, even the little ones were killed. It was a blood bath.

When they were through, the man sat on a chair with a plate of cake.

"Bring them closer." he gestured to one of his men to bring them closer to him.

Ruby and her parents were brought close to him. He took one bite of the cake and shook his head in satisfaction.

"This is nice, by the way happy birthday Ruby." he told her.

Ruby looked up at him, her heart breaking. This man was her mate, the killer of her people was her mate.

"Why are you doing this?" Alpha Terrence asked, his voice had lost it's arrogant tone and now sounded tired.

"Like I said, you would soon find out."

The man finished eating his cake and stood up. He walked closer to Ruby's mother.

"what do you think about her, isn't she beautiful?" he asked his men.

"very beautiful." they answered.

"who wants to have a go at her? I am sure she must be craving for some action." he asked.

The men raised their hands up. The man pushed her in front of them.

"she is all yours" he said.

The men surrounded her, tearing off her clothes, groping at her smooth skin. She tried to fight them off but there was nothing she could do against them.

Ruby and her father watched as the men raped her mother, one after another.

"stop, please stop!" Ruby screamed.

"Please stop this, I beg of you." Alpha Terrence begged.

The man bent down and removed his mask, Alpha Terrence's face paled in fear.

"Damian! It can't be." he said.

"I am not Damian, I am Dante. Alpha of Crimson moon pack" the man replied.
