BOND OF THE PAST

"You remember what I told you in the morning?" Deep starts after sighing like a hundred times.

What exactly is he referring to?

"We talked about a lot of things this morning, so which one, in particular, are you referring to?" I quiz.

"That it's you, who wanted us to remain this way. As...just...friends." He says, pulling me to the seat.

I don't demur. I follow him voluntarily and we crouch on the couch facing each other, our knees almost lounging on each other's.

Not a decent posture for my own thoughts, but it's tolerable. We are in for a serious symposium so I am certain that my virtuous brain will not have the time or incentive to drift haywire.
