“Oh, sorry!” Jessica quickly let go of Shaina’s embrace. “I’m so glad you’re alive.”

Sunshine stopped her own hand from patting her shoulder. She smiled at Jessica, an understanding smile.

“The doctor’s order is not to shock her,” Adrian gently explained to his friend.

Suddenly, sadness appeared on Jessica’s face, and she looked at Sunshine. “I’m sorry for what happened to you, especially Jake. I know that man is important to you and—”

“Adrian, it helps her brain to remember everything right away. The more we mentioned Jake, the easier her memory could remember. Besides, Jake became a part of her life and—”
