CHAPTER SEVEN

FELIX’S POV

“I gave you clear instructions not to invite anyone over”

“I didn’t, she just came here herself” Khloe said, her eyes were frightened as if she had seen a monster.

“You cannot invite your fellow pole dancer to my house, or you will ruin the entire plan.”

“I gave you a simple order, and you went against it.” Felix said angrily, holding her by the neck.

“I am sorry, but please let me go…..” Khloe begged. Felix was still holding her by the neck.

“Let me go” Khloe begged as she was choking, holding Felix’s hand. Felix sighed bitterly, letting her go.

“Am I disrupting something?” a staunch female voice asked from behind. Felix looked back, it was his stepsister Beverly. He was startled, he quickly pretended as if everything was okay for Beverly not to suspect a thing.

“What are you doing here, Beverly?”

“Oh come on, I have come bearing gifts for the newly wedded” she said as some workers entered with different hampers and gift items. Felix and Khloe were looking at the items.

“It’s so nice to see you again. What’s your name again?”

My name is Khloe, sorry Sophia”. Khloe corrects herself, Felix gapes at her for a while, Beverly stares at both of them, Khloe exits eaving both Felix and his step-sister.

“Why are you really here, Beverly?”

“As you can see, I came bearing gifts.”

“I don’t need your gifts. We don’t need your gifts, Beverly.”

“Why do I always seem like the bad guy?”

“That’s because you are trying to take whatever belongs to me”, Felix snapped angrily at Beverly.

“By that you mean?” Beverly asked, uncertain of what he was talking about. Felix knew he had given Beverly a clue. He just looked at her.

“See your way out of my mansion and do me a favour. Never step in here again.”

“Of course, I will visit again, and it might just be during your funeral. Dear Brother” Beverly uttered, put on her dark shade, then turned to leave. As she walked, her footsteps were annoying to Felix. He knew she wasn’t joking when she made the funeral statement. He knew what Beverly was capable of doing the first time she stabbed a chef’s hand for making her a salty dessert.

BEVERLY’S POV

As Beverly was seated in her Maybach limousine, her thoughts were completely about what Felix said to her.

“That’s because you are trying to take whatever belongs to me”. She recalls what Felix said to her.

“What could he possibly be talking about, because I have no idea what the nincompoop is talking about” Beverly uttered loudly.

“Are you talking to me?” the driver asked Beverly.

“No you dollop head” Beverly shouted, picks up a pack of cigarettes inside her bag, and lit the cigar as she smokes. Beverly was always one step ahead of Felix one way or the other and ever since she met Khloe she'd been unstable and knew something was wrong.

“First he brought in a girl out of the blue calling her his wife”

“What are you up to, Felix Banks?”

“What the hell are you up to?” she spoke out loudly, talking to herself. That’s the way she figures out things quickly. She likes talking to herself to solve the puzzle correctly.

“He just told me to my face that I was trying to take what belongs to him”

“What could that possibly be?” she said, dusting off the cigar through the car window.

“Could it be? She said, with a pause.

“Could it be what I am thinking?”

“Damn it!”

“Turn around?” she instructed the driver.

“Where are we going, Ma?” the driver asked.

“Take Tanya’s route. We are going to pay someone a visit” she said to him, as the driver navigated and sped faster.

“Don’t worry Felix, I will find out exactly what you are doing. It’s only a matter of time,” she said with an evil grin.

KHLOE’S POV

I needed to take a shower because I was feeling hot inside of me. As I showered, I touched my neck where Felix choked. My neck was red.

“Ouch. It hurt” I said. I thought about the kind of human monster Felix was, he was choking me, and he felt no remorse whatsoever, rich people and their chaotic, annoying characters. I switched off the shower, I noticed I wasn’t with my towel. I stepped out of the bathroom. Felix was already in my room.

“What the hell!” I shouted, withdrawing my steps back to the bathroom entrance.

“What are you doing here?” I snapped, dragging a towel from the bed and covering my body.

“What do you mean by what am I doing here?”

“This is my house.”

“You just saw me naked.”

“You think there’s a difference between now and the pole where you strip?”

“There’s a difference. I do not expose my body.”

“But do you do when you are paid?”

“I don’t and I haven’t.”

“That doesn’t mean you won’t when given the highest bid of money.”

“Get out of this room!”

“You mean my room?”

“Get out!”

“Language bitch! He said loudly, I was silent.

“My father has invited us for dinner tomorrow night.”

“That’s what I came to tell you. I will prepare everything for tomorrow night.”

“Put yourself in order and get ready to play your role perfectly well” he said as he walked out of the room, barging the door loudly. I just stood there gasping.

FELIX’S POV

Felix thought about how he saw Khloe naked. He knew he went out of line by not apologizing, and he also knew she was taking a shower when he first entered the room. He felt no pity whatsoever, and he thought of how he had been treating her, he was behaving like a beast. He was no beast, but she was nothing but a stripper, and she needed to be put in her place. Besides, he paid her for it. It’s not free. She was nothing but a whore and that's what she was ever going to be to him. A whore.

He thought about the pesky visit Beverly paid him. Beverly didn’t visit him except when she came to diminish him. He had no choice than to try to be ahead of her. He was having these thoughts in his office at his house when his phone rang.

"Yes" he said as he received the call.

"What!" He spurted out.

"Beverly came to see you?"

“Did you tell her anything?”

“Talk to me!”

“Hello! Hello!! Hello!!!”

"Shit!" He said, hitting his phone on the wall near a picture portrait. He breathes heavily. The call was from his father's lawyer. Beverly had paid him a visit.
