The Wedding Day 

The sweet ringing of the bells as the vehicle approached the church made Christine smile —her first genuine smile that morning.

"Oh my God! Chris it is really happening! I am getting married!" Ruth shrieked happily.

Christine turned away from the window and smiled at her friend. It was indeed happening.

"What?" Ruth suddenly quit smiling and her large eyes stared blankly at Christine. "Is something on my face? Did that makeup artist ruin something?" She asked in panic.

Christine smiled even deeper. She took her friend's hands and squeezed with assurance.

"You are perfect Ruth. There has never been a bride as perfect as you," she whispered and Ruth melted by her words.

"Aww, you are such a dove. You always cheer me up," Ruth said squeezing Christine's hands too.

This was a moment, Christine had been desperately waiting for after the episode at the bar. She needed to get away but she had to stay and witness this day.
