Charlie Sr. held onto Margret's arms and pressed on, "But what if there's no solution to the problem?"

Margret went quiet. The last time they had attempted to escape, Madame Agnes had caught up with them and tried to take them back to Houston. Trying to run away again seemed foolish.

"I'm sorry, Charlie. I can't go through with this," she said, pulling her arms away and turning away from him. As she hurried into her house, tears streamed down her face.

Charlie Sr. watched her go with a sorrowful expression, then hung his head and walked away.

Upon entering the living room, Margret immediately noticed Maggi playing with Ten Ten on the floor. Without acknowledging them, she headed straight to her room and collapsed onto her bed, sobbing.
