TWENTY EIGHT

As my consciousness slowly returned my eyes slowly parted and almost as immediately as it did I felt my head throbbing with a sharp, pulsating pain. I blinked several times, trying to bring the world back into focus. The room seemed to spin around me, and it took a moment to recognize my surroundings.

The initial disorientation left me feeling vulnerable and confused. I instinctively reached up to touch my head, feeling the tender spot where I had been struck. The skin was sensitive to the touch, and I winced at the discomfort it caused. My fingers came away slightly sticky, and I realized there was a faint trace of blood on the fingertips.

As I attempted to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over me, causing me to hesitate. The pain in my head intensified, causing me to wince again. Slowly, I steadied myself , trying to regain my bearings.

The room I found myself in was dimly lit, and I could barely make out the objects around me.
