Dinner

Entering the dinning area, it was obvious to Wendy that the Mayor meant business. Everything was exquisite. The decor, the ambience, the food. It was a feast.

Everyone was had a tinge of emerald green in their outfits. It was not an ordinary dinner. The cameras were enough proof.

Wendy held on to her husband. He had told her that was all she had to do.

And she really hoped so. She could see she wasn't the preferred wife and neither was she the wife of the preferred son. Mark was. And he had a lawyer fiancée, Vanessa, who everyone loved. She knew she couldn't compete with that but she hoped she wouldn't be embarrassed either.

The lady of the house, Tiana, was as usual ignored by her step son. She didn't flinch. Instead, she wrapped Wendy in a warm hug.
