Anita
Days after Blake stopped by I was feeling guilty for how I treated him. Careful analysis of his case led me to a conclusion that he was not aware of what he was doing, Blake was watching his life unfold in front of him and he had nothing to do about it. So instead of being mad at him and acting all mean I chose to let him be.Anyway, that midmorning I was on my way home. After another dose of critical thinking I didn't like the way things ended with mum it was time to fix it. Seated in a bus, closer to the window, watching the beautiful emerald vegetation. Amazing how it had bounced back to life merely months after it was razed down with random forest fires not to mention the massive human encroachment that had occurred on it. There were also abandoned roadside stalls, formerly occupied by women selling their groceries and foodstuffs. I longed for days when Christmas would come and we would enjoy watching soccer, walking on the roads testing every homemade food, and plThe war of words between Gerald and his lovely wife Bailey Wallace was still on after their children left. Bailey had locked herself up in their bedroom and Gerald was standing in the hallway throwing accusations at each other and calling names. A truce they had managed to arrive at a few days back went down crumbling once again and it was time to rebuild or keep living like strangers and be a shame to their children as if they were not already. And he couldn't let that happen so he decided to be the adult in the entire situation, for once he chose to be wrong."I'm sorry alright, some things I don't tell you....""A lot of things""Because I don't want you to worry""When you said you had the Blake situation under control I believed you but not in my wildest dreams did I think that you were planning to give him money""It was worth a try wasn't it?""And Anita?"This time she opened the door wide and let him in. The anger had subsided to Gerald's relief.
TessaAfter a less fun filled day the guards drove us back to the manor. I was trying to wrap my head around what Gideon said. Gabriel being smart avoided sharing a car with us and rode shotgun in one of the other SUV's. It was just Gideon and I in the back seat of the Rover. In silence, busy on our phones doing nothing but trying as hard as possible to avoid talking to each other. He wronged me, I felt betrayed and it was upon him to start talking apologize and get on my good side."So you're just going to act like we are not both in this car" he said sadly.I didn't even flinch. In fact that's when those headphones came in handy. And you can imagine the look of disappointment on his face. He earned it and thank God he knew me more than anyone. Like a waitress I served my attitude hot or cold, depending how one wanted it served to them. He seized my headphones and being stronger than me there was nothing I could do to overpower him."Okay what do you want me to say?
Tessa Wallace angrily marched into the Wallace manor almost knocking everything and everyone on her path. Her last destination in mind was her parents room or the office or wherever her father, Gerald Wallace was. The maids were left stating on in awe, behind her was Gideon and he seemed to be mumbling something to her that she definitely didn't care much about. She was even close to falling off from the staircase were it not for Gideon but she blamed her heels that she got off get feet and kept walking to her parents room."Where the hell is he?" She asked angrily fuming with rage."Good evening too Tessa, calm down what's wrong?" Bailey asked calmly.Tessa was too angry to explain why she was angrily looking for her father after spending the entire day out camping they though maybe she was going to come back wearing a smile. "Apparently Blake told her something about the hush money and a shop?" Gideon said.A dreaded look on Bailey's face confirmed the rumour
BlakeThe Wallace dinner was officially a wreck and somehow I couldn't stop feeling bad for ruining it. The food was served to an empty table and no one showed up. Instead the maids were asked to serve them at the comfort of their room. Something funny was going on in the manor and it had everything to do with me, no surprise there. So like everyone I took my food and decided to eat solo in the house, all alone. No music nothing just the sound of my breathing and playing games on my phone hoping it was going to help me relax. Yeah nothing, didn't work I kept wondering when the big bad wolf Gerald Wallace was going to stop by and give me a piece of his mind, probably fire me and ask me to leave. Oh wait no, he couldn't because he loved his daughter so much and she loved me she just didn't know how to show and act about it.The long awaited Gerald Wallace knock finally came and I left the seat with a heavy heart, but to my surprise when I opened the door it was Gideon. He had a death wis
TessaThat morning I felt gloomy, I did not wake up but rather sleep evaded my eyes. Neither mum nor dad showed up to my door for our usual morning run routines. The previous night's exchange was the only explanation. And that brought me back to the elephant in the room. What was I going to do? What if dad was serious about chasing me out of the manor and to the streets with nothing but a broke husband with no home? It reminded me of that request he made once, he asked me to elope with him and I said no, dad was now threatening to throw both of us out. Eloping by force somehow.I yawned and turned on my bed my arms tucked. All the confidence was expelled from my body leaving a shell of my former self. One look at me and someone could tell the devastation and anger that was crossing through my veins. Part of it was confusing and that feeling of betrayal by my father who for long had both fully stood by me, but he did stand by me sometimes when I needed him the most. That was
BlakeThough without passion that morning I woke up ready to work for my father-in-law maybe one last time. I took a long look at myself in the mirror and what came was the realization that I could do better. I deserved better and so did she. Once again my eyes skimmed through the divorce papers as though there was something they had missed the previous night. There was nothing and it did not feel like one of Gideon's pranks. Anyway I folded it and kept it in the inside pocket of my jacket hoping to run into Tessa in a good mood so that we could discuss getting divorced, what a joke. Some few weeks back I did not think we could be talking of getting divorced and yet there we were. Not on our volition but I didn't matter. Apparently out love was in constant interference from outside, specifically by her parents. When I walked into the kitchen that morning it was cold, the feeling was that of my days back when I was a pauper living in a pigsty."Boss, how long are you planning
When Blake opened the door, two guards were sent in to do the search while and the rest of the family remained by the door. He wasn't scared....okay he was but he was sure they were not going to find anything significant there. He wasn't stupid to leave any traces of evidence he stole from Gerald's room in there. But the longer the search took the more scared he was. What if they had...okay no way. Gerald wouldn't have gone to such lengths just to get me out of the way. "Sir we found something!" A guard said.Or maybe he was wrong about what lengths Gerald was willing to go because behold, an envelope was brought to the mix and everyone, including Tessa who wanted something to legitimize her anger, they moved closer to see what it was and Blake felt his heart drop to his belly, a cold wind brushed in his face and his heartbeat slowed down drastically. He felt like the time had frozen and after analysis of the document by the forensics, they all looked at him with surprise written all
