Forty.

(Lily’s POV)

A few weeks have passed since I left the hospital. Chris had been nice to me and very supportive.

My baby bump was starting to form, and I was starting to be one of those annoying women who would love to tell anyone that looked at them that I was pregnant.

Chris had moved us into this small town; I doubt it could be found online, maybe on a map, and I had begun baking and selling it to the people around town.

“You don't have to stay here with me; I am more than capable of taking care of myself.” I told Chris as he helped me get the freshly baked cookies out of the oven.

“Why would I do that? I am enjoying life as a baker now.” He joked.

I chuckled as I shook my head. “This is the life I wanted, but you don't belong here. You are a city person.”

He frowned. “What does that even mean?”

“It means that sooner or later, this life is going to get boring for you.” I replied honestly.

He shrugged, “and until then, I'll be here to help you.” He replied, “besides you will also get
