CHAPTER TWENTY TWO

When Saika sends me a text message asking what I want to do today, I ignore it. As I go towards the stables while holding Lucas' hand, I put my phone back in my pocket and try not to think about it. We go out into the pasture and pet two horses; one of them is Rory's favorite from the night before, but now I find myself disliking it. To which Lucas replies, "Let's go see this spotty one," as the brown one stands there perplexedly.

A bright voice says, "Good morning," It sounds like Rory but with a Scottish accent. I'm shocked and irritated to find Rory standing there. As soon as my grin disappears, he knows something is wrong.

To ask, "What's up?" As he approaches me, he asks.

While pondering, I give him my whole attention.

When do I start playing? Are you acting casually or crazily?

As I push by him carrying my baby, I tell him, "Don't speak to me."

So, I guess I went with insanity.

They hear his loud "Hey" yell. For what it's worth, I'm curious:
