CHAPTER 18

Amari's Point of View

I woke up in a dark room. And I am trying to understand why and how I got here. I was supposedly at the airport for my flight but didn't know why I was now in an unfamiliar place.

I stood up from the bed. I immediately looked for my things, and all of them were on one side. I reached for my handbag on the bedside table, which I instantly checked. All my items were there, such as my wallet, cell phone, and other essential things.

What is the purpose of kidnapping me?

A thought came into my mind.

I roamed my eyes, and I saw the slightly open door.

Seriously? I got kidnapped, but the door was open.

I slowly walked towards the door. I looked outside the room that I was standing in. It's dark and quiet, and I think I am alone now.

Negative thoughts came to mind, but I tried to drive them away. I should prioritize thinking about how I can get out and escape this place.

I was about to return to the room I was in earlier and get my phone to call for help when the lights
