Hardly fair if you ask me

Alari's pov

“Kill them! Kill all of them!” Helena screeched, making her army spring into action.

“Don't you dare leave my side!” Damien growled.

“Don't you dare leave my side!” Vivica repeated, cracking her neck.

Chaos, that's the best way to explain what was happening. Cal and his group jumped from the trees like samurai, cutting down the creatures they fell on. Stopping the first wave from reaching us.

But there was too many, and soon enough, they got past them. Grandpa, who was in the front line, broke the spear he'd been holding in half and drove the two sharp ends through the chests of two beasts that had flung themselves at him.

They were brutal, and unforgiving, and one by one, the beasts fell, one after the other but there were too many, and without fail, I found myself driving my crystal clear spear into inky black fur.

I didn't get a chance to celebrate my kill because another one launched itself over the dead one, coming straight for me.
