Chapter Eighty-Seven

I held his gaze in the mirror, and there was no playfulness or warmth that he usually looked at me with. His mouth was grim. I turned, still sitting down.

"Look, Reagan, I love you. I never wanted to keep it from you, but you had a lot going on then that...."

"When did you find out and how?" He cut in.

I swallowed because he was not taking the soft approach I was using well.

"I found out in Midnight Pack when I went into Kelly's room after we arrived, I kind of threw her across the room, and she hit her head on the cupboard, but it was not on purpose."

"I see, and you did not think that I deserved to know?"

"You do deserve to know, but you had so much on your plate and I did not understand what was happening, so I did not want to bother you."

He scoffed. "If you did not understand, then that was the second reason why you would have told me about it after the first reason which is that I was your mate."

I tried to hold his hand, but he snatched it from my grip.
