"What do you think?" She asked him, her lips slowly curving into a smile. Her frown was long gone.

Alex got to her and stood in front of her, his figure hovering over her. "Wow, you're so...big." she said, raising her head to look at him.

"Can you stop getting surprised by everything? Okay? Good." He rested his hand on her head and stared into her tired eyes. She blinked at him and smiled again.

She stretched out her right hand to touch him, and he took it and rested it on his chest instead, since her hand couldn't reach his face.

That had a better effect on her. Her smile deepened, and she took his hand almost immediately. Nodding her head to herself, she rested his hand also on her chest.

Even though he had to bend a little to do that, the smile on her face made him love his decision. "There. Now, we are...what do you call it? Yes, heartbeat....soulmates."

When she said that, Alex's face squeezed into a frown, as he stared at her, trying to understand what sh
