134. CALL ME QUEEN PART II

I knew Conri was there but I kept my eyes on the chairs, not really wanting to stare at him. Everything was orange around me, seeing so many things I knew weren't there. I felt like I was stepping on air, each step scary.

“ Kneel.” Brum suddenly whispered to me. I lowered to the ground but I felt so far thus he helped me down. How could I ever thank Brum? I wanted to cry right there and then.

The people sang songs, songs that seemed ancient, ones I had never heard before but had read about them. They were songs only meant for such occasions, songs treasured so much but they were dark and wild.

A shiver went down my spine, feeling as if I was about to be sacrificed or something. Brum knelt beside me, telling me I was doing fine. I held onto him.
