57. ME WITHOUT YOU

My body was moving but I was not in control. My head turned from side to side, seeing Vlad lying in the mist of the bloody field. The dragons were flying away, their dead on their backs. They were like large birds on my blurry eyes, their wings flapping away, never thinking I would see the sight. My feet were barely lifting up, limping with my weight falling on the king with each second that passed.

The doors were thrown open, our people stepping out little by little. Their eyes took us in, the gasps filling the air with their knees hitting the ground just as fast.

The king’s arm rang around my waist, trying to keep me up by all means yet the trail of blood he was leaving behind himself alarming. The amount of injuries left our system weak and slow to recover. With the war to it’s end, it felt as if we were still to slip and fade from the world in the most heartbreaking way there was.

My inner voice was telling me to hold on harder, yet I was tired. The darkness was clawing at me hard
