17. I BELIEVE YOU

HELENA’S POV

I didn’t flinch or feel afraid in the dark room even though the squeaking noises of my friends keeping me company on the cold floor was becoming annoying and disrupting my thoughts. I stood calm and collected in the prison cell while waiting for the decision of both the elders and the Alpha himself.

One thing was certain, they would come searching for me sooner or later because the patients are at a very sensitive and critical stage but without me around to administer their required dosages, Secretary Han would never do that on my behalf and it will trigger the patients, sending them into a shock which should have been prevented if this didn’t happen.

The elders’ voices were loud enough that I could hear faint noises from the walls of my new room.

“Those creatures are fucking too loud for people who are incompetent” I muttered with a tired sigh, my eyes closing to get the sleep I have been deprived of for days.
