Chapter four

JEANNE'S POV

"Rachael, aren't you happy?" He asked as the audience began to applaud.

I shook my head in denial as tears began to rush from my eyes. I've always wanted this so why am I not happy.

The thought of leaving my parents now haunted me. I couldn't bear leaving my parents.

"Noo!" I suddenly yelled and the clapping stopped.

"I don't want to go, Dad..." I pleaded in tears and Dad looked at me surprised.

He turned to the audience with a smile.

'You can serve yourself. We will be right back..."

Dad pulled me away and mum followed us too.

"What are you saying Rachael?" He asked when we got into my room.

"It's your dream right. I remembered those times you badly wanted to go but why now?" Dad further asked me and I sighed.

"I just don't want to go anymore Dad, please.." I pleaded.

"Jeanne, if you are worried about us. We will be fine.." My mum said and caressed my hair.

"You can't just give up on your dreams like that.." She said to me and I nodded.

"Fine, mum. I'll go.." I said and Dad smiled and pulled me into a hug.

"That's good princess.." He whispered to me.

"Dad.." I called breaking the hug.

"Who applied for me? Cause I don't  remember making any application?" I asked.

"Your Uncle did it. You should be extremely grateful to him for training you vigorously in martial arts. That's why you are so good.." Dad replied me and I rolled my eyes.

Yeah, my uncle was the one who trained me ever since I was eight. But of course, he was a retired CIA agent.

"When am I leaving?" I asked again.

"Tommorow morning, you have start to packing your bags. Because by exactly 8am, they will be here to pick you.." Dad explained.

"So soon??"

"And they will also come to pick me??"

Damn! This is messy.

"Jeanne, don't think about it dear. You will be fine..."

Mum hugged me tightly and I didn't know when I started sobbing.

Morning came as quickly and I found myself standing with my luggage. Mum, Dad and my so called uncle were behind me.

"Don't forget to call us when you get there.." Mum told me and I nodded.

"I won't mum.." I replied her with a smile.

"And behave good there, don't act all crazy.." Mum reminded me also and I chuckled before nodding.

I was about to speak when the door bell rang.

"They are here.." Dad said and we all proceeded downstairs. I opened the door and a man standing in suit was in front of me.

"Does Jeanne Thalcobs live here?" He asked and I nodded.

"I'm here.." I raised my hand.

"Are you set to leave?" He asked with a smile and I nodded.

I turned back to my parents and hugged them.

I clutched mum's cloth tightly as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"I don't wanna go.." I thought.

"Mum, please take care. Take care of Dad too and please don't hesitate to call me.." I said with tears.

"Yes, I will. And please promise to be fine ." Mum said struggling to hold her tears back.

Then I hugged both of them still crying.

"Please take care of each other. I love you both so much.." I said  and held them tightly.

"Miss, it's time to go.." The man said behind me and I relucntantly broke the hug.

My eyes met with my uncle's and i noticed that there was a sly smile playing on his lips. I scoffed and glared at him angrily before I proceeded to leave.

We all walked outside and there was car standing outside. The driver opened the door and I looked at my parents one last time before I hopped in. Now my journey to the Talents Scouts Institute starts now.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't know when I fell asleep.

**

Hours later, I woke up. Just as we are about to enter the institute. I gasped as we rode into the institute.

It was damn beautiful. There were street lights on the tarred road and it looked like more like a paradise.

"I'm sure it's a damn big place.." I said out loud.

"Yes Miss, it is. Welcome to the Talents Scouts institute.." He said and I smiled widely.
