Jasmine's pov
Where are the goddamn roads?
A chill traveled down my spine as my eyes wandered around the woods. I've been running for two hours. Two fucking hours.
What were mothers words to me again?
"Stay out of trouble and by all means do not illegally cross the borders of other kingdoms," she had always warned.
I've always been known to obey my parent's words since obviously they were the Alpha and Luna of my pack but basically because I was your typical introvert. A dorky one at that.
About three hours ago, I left my dorm room for some fresh air when I couldn't get any more ideas penned down. I suffered heavily from writer's block, and I have a deadline to meet by next week. It was as if my idea juice dried up. I parked my car on the paved road, but I unconsciously entered the woods, the part which was set apart for only the inhabitants of Allouez.
The wolf's kingdom was divided into four. The domains were grouped according to the colors of the fur.
Brown shadow pack (brown fur— kingdom Alleouz), headed by Alpha Aurthur and Luna Bella.
Black Moon pack (black fur— kingdom Arlington) headed by Alpha Greenwood and Luna Loretta.
Green moss pack (green fur— kingdom Bloomfield ), headed by Alpha Aloysius and Alpha Natalie.
And lastly, the White Claw pack (White fur— kingdom Blanchard-Ville ) headed by Alpha Lucien and Luna Lucy, my parents.
I know I should have stopped and explained to them that it was a mistake instead of making it seem like it was an imposter or a lone Wolf, but I couldn't. I was too scared.I groaned to myself before kicking the mud off my paws. I needed to find an exit as I could no longer hold my chasers off. I needed to escape. The woods were dark, with barely any source of light. The branches snapped behind me, and a soughing growl made its way to my ears.
They were here.
I realized they were trying to circle me then ambush me, but I didn't give up just yet. I've been taught many escape tactics, and I wasn't going about to put my mother to shame.
I found myself on the paved road outside the woods. As soon as I touched the ground, I shifted to my human form. Cold air greeted my skin, and I wrapped my hand around my bare breast before heading towards my car parked by the woods.
Once inside, I glanced back at the woods, searching for lurking danger, but I didn't find any. "Phew," I breathed out, then rested my head on the stirring. Another sigh escaped my mouth.
"That was close," I mumbled to myself before twisting my key inside my car ignition and switching the engine on. With one roar, my jeep rolled out of the woods.
The panic welled in my chest calmed down as I swallowed the iced saliva stuck in my throat. The college building appeared in my view... Manville.
Manville, the only city, dominated by humans, just as the name implied. A mayor ruled the town. Governor Micheal Whites.
As per the laws that governed the territory, werewolves are not to snap at each other or humans on the city ground. Blood could only be shed in the woods.
I tend to associate more with humans a lot more than I do with werewolves. Something that I found really interesting because humans are more palatable than humans. And are always interested in listening to wolves' stories and learning whatever trick you teach them—Unlike the wolves.
Sparkling blue and golden lights flashed over me as I reached the parking lot outside my dorm, and I swerved to the space therein to park my car and quickly put on my jeans and T-shirt.
A gasp escaped my lungs as the loud sound of my phone ringing cut through the silence in my car. I quickly grabbed the phone from the passenger seat to check the caller. I hoped it wasn't a mother. That woman had a way of sensing when someone was in danger, even when the person stayed 20,000 kilometers from her.
That was an exaggeration, of course. But danger sensing at a long distance is a common trait for all primordial.
"Ha! Thank you graciously!" I exclaimed when I checked the caller's ID, and I saw it wasn't my mother calling. Hell, it wasn't even a wolf call.
It was Miranda.
"Hey, " I said as I answered the call.
"Hey yourself. I have been waiting for you for hours now! I thought you were supposed to be back by 8?" She snapped, sounding exhausted and irritated.
"Uh, yeah. " my reply was clipped. "I'm just down. I was parking my car. I will be there in a moment. Stay put!"
"Whatever!" She fired. "Just another minute, and if you don't show up by then, I will leave without you. " she sounded convinced that I was lying... That I wasn't parking my car.
"Stepping into the elevator," I stomped my feet harder on the ground. "Hear that? That's the sound of my feet on the marble floor. You know how footsteps sound on marbles, right?" I asked, forgetting I was talking to a human.
"Yes. And I know how you sound when you lie," she replied wittily.
This girl!
I ended the call when I realized she wasn't buying my confessions. I walked inside the building, waving at the security guards, smiling brightly at them, to which they replied with the same energy. Do you see? Another perk of humans.
So lovely.
I walked inside the elevator, and after pressing the green button and punching my floor number, I rested my head on the talk glass wall, closed my eyes, and heaved a sigh of relief. I was enjoying the cocoon of the ride up.
Well, it has been such a tough evening.
I raised my head and opened my eyes when I heard the bing sound of the elevator, telling me I'd reached my desired floor and that I was now safe, but boy, was I wrong? The lights suddenly went off, then boom! There was a crash...
Jasmine's pov"I'm sorry that I couldn't make it back on time. I got into some trouble," I said when I walked inside my room and went to my space. I landed heavily on my soft bed. Unlike outside and in the woods, the inside was warm. My trembling body basked in the warmth of the room and the comfy-ness of my bed. It was a miracle that I didn't break my leg from that fall. What happened to the lights anyways?A satisfying moan left my mouth."Why do you look so tired? And what are all these scratches on your hand?" Miranda questioned and walked to my side of the room to inspect my hands.I didn't even notice that I had scratches."Where— what scratches?" I asked with anxiety. I turned my hand so that my elbow was now up, and immediately my face turned sour."What happened to you? Where were you?""In the woods. I got chased for hours. Two fucking hours" I exclaimed before chugging down a lite
Jasmine's povSun shone through the thick cloud as Mira, and I made our way through the crowded pavement of Manville."Yes, I admit. Wisconsin is naturally beautiful during falls, but Manville is the prettiest amongst all its towns," I confessed to Mira, who had made that claim at the beginning of fall, but I was quick to try to prove her wrong. But suitable walking in the crosswalk and this bright and sunny day just proved her claim. It was beautiful."See, I told you," she smiled and clapped her hand merrily before doing a little happy dance.Really? Does it feel so good to have me agree to something? I turned my head upwards to look at the sky, and I noticed the changes in it.I hurried through my backpack and fished out my phone before turning to the calendar app. I checked the date, and that was when it hit me.Today was the blood moon festival. On the day of mating, I was fulfilling desires and finding out who I would spend
Jasmine's pov Who was this man? Even in the dark, I could perfectly outline his features. Damn! the creator for making some people look like the Greek gods while others like the slaves. Though I couldn't see all of him, from the little I could see, I would say he was the human symbol for gorgeous. Dang! He was tall, lean, broad-shouldered, and had muscular arms. Those were his features I took in at first then swallowed. Next was his footsteps... They were calculated and purposeful. His hands were tucked into the pocket of his black velvet jeans trousers. His long-sl
Kyle's pov My training was complete. My senses were trained and now fully enhanced. Now I could see, smell, hear, taste, and run as fast as any other immortal on planet Earth. My days with the seven witches finally got to an end, and I was more than happy to start trying new things! Eating new things! It was time to pay back the humans, for all the hurt and pain they caused me! It was time to avenge the werewolf for the death of my parents! It was time to start a new reign! A new kingdom! It was
Kyle's povI cleared my throat and said "You look like you were going to say something. What stopped you?"She looked at me like I grew a horn on my head. Maybe it was the mode of my approach or I seemed unbothered by her, but something vexed her."I was going to say you are standing in my way. Move!" She blurted with a frown.I made a tsk sound and said "You're sure that's what you were going to say wild cat?"It was her time to scoff at me. "Wild cat? That's the best thing you could come up with?" Her voice was sharp and she was damn sharp too. My first impression was that she was a ninny or an introvert of some sort
Kyle's povI got tired of hiding in the dark. I got tired of living alone as the only vampire in Wisconsin... Switching between my typical college house and the isolated cabin in the woods.I wanted to live my life as freely as the werewolves and humans. . I'm tired of running off like a lunatic whenever I'm faced with werewolves. I wanted to bring my powers to light and my empire too.It was time to build my empire!I knew a few things about not to exhaust a newly initiated vampire and about a little more on how to train them, but I've learned mightily about how to breed one. Diverse ways to breed them, I must add.Since I couldn't possibly g
Kyle's povImmediately after the last compelling word left my mouth, the body of the dead owls stood up and flew through the window while the light from the candles turned off.The cabin and the environment were completely silent—eerily silent. For a couple of minutes, everything was quiet until there was a thunderous sound from the outside and a flash of strong lightning appeared in the sky, cutting and illuminating through the darkness and silence. The sound of deep rumbling started to grow inside and I know after that the initiation was complete. After a few minutes more the candle lights came on again while the owls returned.I waited to watch in alert and zero seconds. The new vampires
Kyle's povThe night was calm and only chirps of birds could be heard and even though the heartbeat of the new vampire was hysterical, they looked physically at ease.Smiling crankily I replied "I know because I read minds. And you can too. I just allowed you to do so. To be like a god amongst gods. And because I know how badly you were treated by humans, ..." I stood up and placed my hand on the black round table."I graced you with a chance, the ultimate opportunity to get back at them... To take vengeance on the people that made your life a living hell...Our life is a living hell," I said sternly looking deeply into their eyes. Pressing with coercion, and removed my hand from the table and brought it up above the table, and said. "Join me, brothers, as I embark on this journey of vengeance. The journey o
