I lay here awake looking at the most beautiful, smart, caring and loving woman in the world and wonder again how I became the luckiest man, the one that was chosen to be her mate for life. I know I have been ruthless, cruel and cold hearted for the last 150 years and a lot of that was the result of my parents betrayal but she has reminded me of what it was like before they died, what it was to be part of a family and loved again.
