The party was jumping, and the teenagers were high on marijuana and other unmentionables. They ground on each other with red cups in their hands, singing at the top of their lungs. Lazarus hadn’t been to a rave like this since the early nineties. But watching the intoxicated people, he didn’t miss it much. He was standing in the dark, out of sight, but watching everyone. He was like a fly on the wall. He wished he could get Miranda alone, but seeing that she was not herself lately, it would look suspicious for him to be kissing her when she was wearing Nigel Vanderwolf’s face. But nevertheless, he intended to take her as his Eternal Mate when all of this was over. He liked her, and she may not feel the same way about him yet, but he was determined to change her mind.
