CHAPTER 8

When he first saw her, he assumed she was unconcerned. Seeing her so self-assured even among those bodyguards, it appeared that everything was just right for her. When he first saw her at the hall during the engagement, he thought she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.

Instead of focusing on the couples who were getting married, he was fixated on her throughout the ceremony. As a result, he inadvertently overheard the majority of their later conversation, which was mostly the white witch venting her rage at the Grant family.

The identity of the mysterious sister was revealed as a result of that conversation. After all, the white witch was Samantha, but why were they calling her Violet? He could tell that every word Violet said was true based on how her family reacted when she made her statement.

They didn't seem to care; it was as if they didn't consider her a member of the family. There was nothing wrong with her appearance; he liked it, despite the fact that it scared him at times.

He followed her, and it seemed like she wasn't feeling well. She tried to appear high and mighty, but she was deeply hurt. She reminded him of his own situation, being trapped and unsure what to do, but she was braver than he was.

She lashed out at her family and said everything she had stored in her heart in contrast to him. Every day, he puts up with what they do to him.

He saw Rita and knew she was on her way his way, so he pulled out his cell phone and thought of an idea. He managed to avoid her and left the state house; it was no longer enjoyable to be there.

It's been three days since the first son's engagement, which made headlines, especially with the appearance of the white witch. Instead of Damon and his fiancée making headlines, Violet topped them off, which made him happy in some ways.

Suzy deserved it because she was so ungrateful. He was looking through Violet's photos when Laura appeared next to him.

“You were at the engagement party, so why are you looking at those pictures?”

“I'm just fascinated by her. Everywhere I go, I meet her, as if fate brought us together.”

“Oh, since when have you become a romantic?”

“I guess just now. It's all her fault; she always brings out a different version of herself.”

“Look who's talking; don't you see Rita Norris?”

“Don't even bring her up.”

“Why?”

“I believe that girl is hiding a lot more things from me, and I will find them one by one.”

“While we're on the subject, I heard there's a legend in private investigations.”

“Really? How come you didn't tell me sooner?”

“I only found out about it a few days ago from another guy; he said that person will do anything as long as you have what it takes.”

"As in?"

“Money or whatever else that person desires from you.”

“Then do you know how I can contact that person?”

“Let me ask him again, and I will give you the contact information as soon as I get it.”

“All right, then, I'll be waiting.”

“Why don't we go to our lecture right now? I don't want to be late today.”

“What's up with you today?”

“You have no idea!”

“Know what?” he inquired as he packed his belongings.

Laura grabbed him and led him to the exit, where they proceeded directly to the lecture hall.

“Don't just grab me; inform me.”

“I've heard the new Professor is pretty hot, and I can't wait to meet him.”

“Don't you hang out with a lot of hot guys? Why would you want to add another to the list?”

“He and you, my friends, are not the same. Unlike you dirty players, I have a chance to seduce him and make him mine for eternity with him.”

“I am not one of them.”

"Don't even begin, my dear. Simply put up your hands and follow me to class.”

“Yes, ma'am.”

Laura kept surprising him, and he'd lost count of the number of times she'd said the same thing. Was this in high school? Her first crush emerged when she was about sixteen years old, and it did not go well. He just brushed them off the rest. For the time being, he was going to check out this new guy.

When she left her parents' home at the age of eighteen, she started her own businesses, which grew over time thanks to the people who supported her. She was twenty-two years old when her mentor showed her that place in a vision; the land was beautiful and filled with an energy that no one could explain.

It had never been used for anything, and to others it appeared to be a wasteland; perhaps this is why they left it that way for so long. So, when she inquired about the land, she was fortunate in that she was able to purchase the land equivalent to a farm for much less than what she gained after performing all of her safeguards on that land.

Her club, as well as the three roads connecting it to the main road, were completed two years after she purchased the land. She had the club built in this manner for a variety of reasons.

First, she wanted it to be mysterious; second, she wanted her customers to have privacy that they couldn't find anywhere else; and third, she didn't want them to forget about nature.

They should spend their money in a relaxing and natural setting; even if they make a lot of noise, no one will notice because she was the only one in the area.

Within a year, Lucid Dreams was flooded with customers, and because everyone was born differently, she made sure she catered to all ages as well as their various needs.

Lucid Dreams had four levels: bronze, silver, gold, and platinum. The bronze level was for ordinary customers who came to buy drinks and enjoy their time with friends or alone, and it was the lowest level with no benefits.

The higher the level, the more expensive it becomes, as well as the more privacy and secrets there are. Politicians, big businessmen, and people in high places frequented her club. As a result, she constructed a separate structure to meet their everlasting needs.

Lucid Dreams was completed at the age of twenty-five, with the main building having about five floors to accommodate bronze, silver, and gold. The separate building was only for the platinum VVIPs.

To accommodate every customer who visits the club, each section had its own parking space, including an underground parking space. There were rules that seemed stupid to others, but those who knew her knew it was a life or death situation.

After finishing Lucid Dreams, she began work on her home, which was about a kilometer away from the club but on the same property. She had a mansion built there to meet all of her needs.

Another gate was constructed to connect the mansion and the club. After another year, the mansion and all of the necessary roads were finished. The mansion had three roads and gates that all led to the main road but in different directions.

The club was surrounded by a wall and had security guards stationed throughout to ensure its safety. The second wall in that location was the one that surrounded the entire property, including the mansion and the club.

The final wall was the one that only surrounded the mansion and had three different gates that led to the roads built within that parameter. Every gate was guarded, even though no one ever broke in; there were, however, futile attempts.

Her mansion had an underground parking space for the majority of the cars she owns, which were too numerous to count. The mansion had many guest bedrooms, which she had built with the hope that one day her family would come and spend time with her, but they never did.

Her daughter's bedroom and her master bedroom, which was large enough to be a three-bedroom house for a normal family, were the most important bedrooms in the mansion.

Since she was mercilessly raped by Martin and his thug friends, she has always felt suffocated in a small space, which is why she vowed that when she made enough money, she would drive big, live big, and spend big.

Because she didn't like any of the beds she saw in stores, she hired a carpenter to design and build her a large rectangular bed that she placed in the center of the room and decorated with different drapery styles almost every day.

Her dressing table was on the other side of the room in her bedroom, and her bar shop was on the other side of the room. Her dressing table was in her bedroom on the other side of the room, her bar shop in the other, the couch and massage chair in the other, and her television sets were strategically placed so that she could see them even when she was in bed.
