CHAPTER 15

I suddenly went cold, my body was trembling.I moved back a bit. He stepped out of the elevator with a big smile on his face. I wanted to run away, I wanted to hide but my body was unresponsive.

"Hello Rachel."

He greeted.I swallowed hard, unable to respond to him. As always, he was handsomely dressed. He was wearing a beige, buttonless shirt bloused over brown chinos and brown Chelsea boots.

He stared down at the package. On seeing the broken mugs, he sighed."If I am responsible for this, then I am sorry. How much did it cost?""Don't worry, I can get another."

I responded, unable to hear my own voice."If I broke something, I will fix it...", he stuffed his hand into his pocket, taking out a bundle of $100 bill, wrapped with a band.
