Taking the key, Mrs. Hastings circled the counter. The poor little thing isn't safe at all. Her eyes widened as she cast a quick peek at the revolver concealed in Lucian's belt. The question "She was packing?"

He didn't want to argue with his uncle about the gun again, so he asked, "Was there anything else you can remember about her?"

Mrs. Hastings indicated the loft's meandering staircase. "You may look around there. One of my adolescent visitors informed me that a woman was sobbing while reading a letter.

It was Ravena's sister when I began my investigation. I didn't see any letter, so she must have wiped away her tears. Uncle Sheridan hurried to the loft by climbing the stairs.

"Have you got any other memories?" Nothing in her room indicated that she had ever been there, according to Lucian.

"After the visitors had left for the day, Emma cleaned the rooms. Nothing was mentioned by her. Mrs. Hastings took another look at the weapon.
