FORTY EIGHT

Like dejavu. Ezra returned to the hospital holding Mila in his arms. Blood was still flowing from Mila's thigh, staining the black shirt Ezra was wearing. But he doesn't care. He just ran and kept running to call the medical team who would help Mila who was groaning in pain in his arms.

"Hold on, okay. I know you can get through all of this.”

"This really hurts Ezra." Mila's lips trembled as she tried to tell Ezra how bad her stomach was right now. Even Mila began to be pessimistic about the condition of her baby.

"Maybe he won't make it," Mila croaked as Ezra placed her carefully on the gurneys.

“Don't say anything and just hang in there. They will do all kinds of ways to help you.”

Mila was then brought into the emergency room. A nurse stopped Ezra at the ER door which was just about to be closed. Ezra stood on tiptoe to see Mila's condition inside. But the nurse closed the door tightly and Ezra could see nothing but the door with its stiff green curtains.
