Orion Pov

My hands gripped the steering wheel tightly as I drove back to the hotel, fear coursing through my veins, and my heart pounding in my chest.

The weight of the responsibility pressed down on me.

"What trouble has she gotten herself into?" I wondered, speeding towards the hotel

"Cursed lunar tether," I muttered under my breath, frustration evident in my voice.

"Why did she have to let me mark her? Now I'm bound to protect her, whether I like it or not?"

I wasn't able to face her, that wasn't part of the agreement.

It was a night of passion and she had begged me to mark her.

"Jeez, Lion, this is all your fault." I spat at my wolf.

I could feel her fear, something was wrong. The lunar tether makes it possible for me to feel her fear and if she's in danger, I lose my power and worse my life, it's a powerful bond.

The road seemed to stretch endlessly before me, not like I cared about her, but because I wanted to save my life. I've put myself in a terrible mess.
