John's POV

My week had been hellish and my purpose at my friend's party was only to distract myself from all the shit that surrounded my life, however, the setback of Helena's presence generated in me a myriad of questions incorporated with an unusual restlessness, resulting in the total failure of my plans.

In my head everything was in perfect order, which led me to believe that it would be easy to see the girl without feeling confused, however, this was a mistake.

After our little clash, where Helena's elusive behavior made it clear that something was not normal, I was seized by numerous doubts about her attitudes that did not allow me to understand what the real problem was. Or if there was a problem. It was only during a conversation with Betsy, "an old school friend", that I could definitely direct my thoughts to something other than Helena, a fact that was beginning to annoy me.
