7 am.
Sophie wakes up the next morning after her alarm goes off, sliding off the bed to go to the bathroom brushing her teeth and her hair waking herself up for the day. She decides to put her hair in pigtails today going for her more comfortable clothes, her Stitch T-shirt and her grey sweatpants since she had gym today.
She makes her way downstairs colliding with Casper who just so happened to catch her before she fell "Easy Klutz, don't wanna break your neck on the second day now do you?" He asked and she rolled her eyes knowing he was teasing her "Thanks, Casper." She said making her way to the kitchen seeing Chloe seated in the high chair wearing her cute baby shark outfit "Hey Chloe, my favorite little sister." She coos kissing her forehead sitting next to her, their mom served pancakes and sausages today. "Casper, come on down and eat your breakfast." Sophie says and sure enough, in comes zooming 5'10 inches of energy with blonde hair sitting down at the table. "Mom, I don't think anyone could ever match your cooking level." Casper says with a mouthful of pancakes in his mouth and Sophie smiles shaking her head.
"Thank you baby, but I know one day you're gonna have a girl who knows how to cook way better than me." Their mom says and Casper shakes his head standing up from the chair to hug her "Nope, it doesn't matter how good someone's cooking might be. None will ever top the first love of my life." Casper says and Sophie feels her heart melt in awe as their mother smiles hugging him back "Awww Cas.. Baby, I hope you know how much I love you. All of you." She says looking at him, and then Sophie and Chloe. "Yes mom, we know. We love you even more." Sophie says warmly watching the display of genuine love before her eyes.
Sophie finished her food and her and Casper made their way to the car, she got a text looking at her phone with a smile. It was Mason. Sophie smiles opening her phone to read the message from her boyfriend.
She looks at the message smiling at the 'Princess' unable to say no to him. "Sophie come on" Casper says, she nods at him typing a response back to Mason.
She joined Casper in the car as he drove them to school, putting her phone away happy with the fact her boyfriend is really eager for her to go to this party. She wondered if Casper already knew about it, but she would tell Jane about it at lunch.
Casper pulled up to the school parking in their spot looking over at Sophie as they both got out, Sophie made her way to her locker putting her bag away. She got to her class just as the bell rang holding her books in her hands. "Good morning class! Welcome to English Class, I decided today we're gonna watch a movie, you guys seen Of mice and Men?" The teacher asked and Sophie sees all the kids turn to look at each other, everyone has an invisible question Mark over their heads. The teacher clapped her hands together "Wonderful! Today will be the day you guys watch it, pay attention because you will have to explain to me what you guys learned from the movie, and next well will be Romeo and Juliet." She says cheerfully, there's murmuring in the class from the students and then the lights are dimming in the room as she presses play on the computer.
"A guy needs somebody―to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you."
———————————————————————-
The lights are turned back on and everyone's eyes take a moment to adjust looking up at the teacher "Okay class, what did you learn from the movie?" She asked and Sophie has to wipe the tears from her eyes raising her hand hearing a bunch of murmurs in the back "Yes, Ms Ortiz?" The teacher says with a smile "Jesus, Why Don't you leave the questions for the other kids in the class you freak." Cindy, Britney's hound dog says and for a moment Sophie feels dejected and she puts her hand down.
"No, she'll answer whatever she wants to. Cindy, leave her alone with your fake boobs. You're plastic, at least Sophie's natural." Sophie's eyes shoot up and she turns around and sure enough; There's Casper. She smiles unable to help it and she raised her hand again. "The message behind the movie was so emotional because even if you didn't do anything wrong, or you don't know what you did wrong. There will always be people ready to make you pay the consequences. They'll even get your best friend to do it knowing that it's the best way for your guard to be down." Sophie says and everyone in the class is silent for a few moments before the teacher smiles brightly "Thank you Sophie, right as always. So mature this time." Sophie nods her head softly at her "It's almost like you've been through-" The teacher seems to notice Sophie's demeanor and there's a visible frown on her face.
The bell for lunch rings and Sophie jumps out of her chair eager to get out of the class "Sophie, can you stay behind a moment?" Mrs. Sowah asks and Sophie nods her head coming over to sit by the desk. "Yes, Mrs. Sowah?" She asked looking at her hands sheepishly, the kids leaving the class except Casper who sat on the desk watching over her "What's going on? I noticed that Cindy likes to pick on you. Is she the only one?" She asks and Sophie sighs softly "No, she's not. Her Britney, and Katherine, all bother me. It's been happening for a little more than a year, and I don't know what I ever did to them to deserve them to be so disrespectful to me." Sophie says and Mrs Sowah nods before she writes something in her sticky notes handing one to Sophie "Honey, here's my number. I don't want you to feel like you can't come to anyone, I know all of their mothers personally, and I will make sure that they know what awaits them if they harass you more."
"N-No no, it's not necessary Mrs-" "Are you afraid they'll cause harm to you? That they'll find out you told? No, I see with my own eyes. And I will be watching at lunch time. I'll catch them in the act." Sophie feels as if she's just been read like an open book. "Thank you, Mrs Sowah." She says, Mrs Sowah nods her head with a smile and then Sophie and Casper are leaving the classroom making their way to the cafeteria.
Jane sees them coming in and she furrows her eyebrows "Hey, where've you guys been?" She asked softly, Casper hugged Sophie kissing the top of her head "I love you little sis, have a good day." He says aloud before going to his lunch table. "The teacher wanted to talk to me, so you know how that goes." She says and Jane nods her head sitting with Sophie at the table .
"Hey Jane, I'm not exactly a party person but-" "You want me to accompany you to the big one happening? I'm assuming your boyfriend invited you?" Jane asked and Sophie blinks, Jane just knows. Without Sophie saying much. "Yes, that's exactly what I was about to ask you. You'll come?" Sophie asks with a desperate plea in her voice, she wasn't exactly a party girl. But since her boyfriend wanted her to go, she didn't want to be the bad person and say no. "Yeah Sophie, I'll go. No doubt." Jane says and Sophie smiles ecstatic, reaching over and hugging her "You will?? Thank you, I appreciate it so much." She says before pulling back rubbing her neck "I'm sorry- I didn't mean to do that." "It's fine, Sophie. I won't bite your head off for hugging me." Jane says laughing softly which eased Sophie's concern.
Later that day~
Soon it was time for Casper's rehearsal, Sophie and Jane there as they promised. Casper was good on his own but everyone could use supporters, no matter what they wanted people to believe. "Alright Casper! Let's go!" "Goooo Huskies!" The cheer girls said from the bleachers, they didn't have to do the actual routine until the championship but they practiced everyday. Huskies was Beverly Hills's golden group, always good memories and wins behind this group, many generations down.
The whistle blows and the teams are off, numbers 2 and 7 seem to be two of the best players on the team. Not long afterwards they score once again, tag teaming the opponents .
"Yes! Second time you guys did good! Go Casper!" Sophie yells, overly excited for her big brother. He may drive her crazy with the "I'm five minutes older." But she will always be the first person in his corner.
No matter what happens.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Casper's rehearsal was finished and he was high five-ing all the guys on his team, Sophie came down to congratulate him again and she bumped into someone causing her to stumble, a pair of arms grabbed her waist and she looked up to see Jane "Be careful." Jane chides softly and she nods softly "Watch where you're going, nerd." She looks up to see the boy wearing Jersey number 2 and she blinks with a slight frown about to say something "You bumped into her, it's not her fault you don't know how to move out of the way. She clearly didn't even see you." Jane says and the boy eyes them both before shaking his head walking away "Whatever, just watch where you're walking next time. With that attention span of yours, you'll be lucky if you don't fall into a sewer drain." He says over his shoulder going into the locker room, Sophie furrows her eyebrows as Jane tugs her towards Casper.
Who was that guy? She always say Jersey number 2 but had no idea who he was, or at least. What his name was. He looked familiar. He'll just be number 2 for now
"What's wrong? You guys okay?" Casper asks and Sophie nods her head "We're fine, just accidentally bumped into your friend."
"No, your dumb friend over there bumped into Sophie and then wants to tell her to watch where she's going. He saw her there and kept walking in her direction." Jane says and Casper eyes Sophie "Soph.. who was it?" He asks softly and Sophie looks over at Jane who urges her to speak up "It was jersey number 2.." she says and Casper nods his head "Well, he's pretty much a jerk, I mean. Not to me but I hear he's got a bad reputation although I've yet to see it. It was maybe an accident and he probably just said it as a reflex, but if this occurs again, you let me know. Okay?" Casper says and Sophie nods her head at him. "Alright, let's go. It's Friday, I'm starving what do you guys say we go get some Jimmy Johns, unless y'all want something else? There's also Five Guys and Jack In The Box." Casper says running his hand through his fluffy blonde hair cascading around his face.
"I was thinking Jack in the box." Sophie says and Jane smiles "Me too actually." Casper clasps his hands together and he leads them to the car "Let us go then, To Jack in the Box!" He declared raising his hand in the air in a fist drawing attention causing Sophie to laugh at him "To Jack in the box!" The girls both said in unison, when you have a crazy public person you can't let him be crazy alone. You gotta join the crazy, support his antics if you care enough.
Casper drives Jane and Sophie to Jack in the box."Hey Jane, you good to hang with us? I mean you can go home if you want to." Casper says looking through the rear view mirror occasionally at her, Jane looks at him and then Sophie with a soft smile "Nah, I'm good hanging with you guys. I can always go home when I'm tired, and so can you two." She says and Sophie smiles at her answer looking at Casper who smiles at the both of them pulling up to the Jack in the box, it seems it's bustling with chatter and customers inside the Jack in the box today. Sophie looks around at all the teenagers talking and laughing as they all sat at the table they chose, Sophie felt a little anxious with all the people around her. Even though no one was there, she felt like all eyes were on her. It felt as if she were being talked about by every single person in the restaurant.&nb
Sophie wipes the tears from her eyes as she smiles up at Casper "you just want to distract me from my tears, don't you?" Sophie asks in a bit of a pout causing Casper to shake his head. "No, I want my sister to smile. To have fun, forget about Mason today. If he feels a type of way he can make up for how he made you feel." Casper says and Sophie smiles at him getting her shoes and putting them on, she sits up on the bed hugging him tightly. "Thank you.. I thought you'd be totally different considering how you were when we were younger." Sophie says and Casper rolls his eyes hugging her back tightly "I was a kid, we were kids. As I grew up I realized how much I love all of you. And if anyone's going to be there for me before anyone else, it's you. You're my twin, my other half. And I don't know what I'd do without you."Sophie felt warmth take over her
"Hey Sophie, let's go for some funnel cake. You could use some mood lightening." The boy said and Sophie wasn't sure why she agreed with no problem following this boy to the funnel cake stand. They stood online and the wonderful smell of fresh baked dough and sugar filled her nose, a sense of delight washing over her knowing she'll be able to eat funnel cake. One of her favorites. "Hi, can I have two funnel cakes please?" He asked and Sophie realized he's paying for hers and she goes to take out her wallet being stopped by him. "What are you doing?" He asked looking at her, Sophie raised her wallet and he waved it off "I was gonna pay for mine-" "No, my treat. end of discussion." He said and she nods her head allowing him to do it since he wouldn't let her pay for hers. A few minutes later they're both given their funnel cakes and Sophie smiles taking a bite out of it, a satisfactory groan leaving her mouth. "Damn, it's that Good? I made the right choice taking you to get it then, p
Sophie's alarm went off and she jolted up, she didn't remember going to sleep. She went to rush out of bed before she saw the date, it's Sunday. She sighs laying back down in her bed thankful she didn't have to rush to school, not that she didn't like school or anything. However, being later on the third day wouldn't exactly be a good thing. After much persuasion she got out of bed going to the bathroom brushing her teeth and her hair, once she finished she got a message on her phone. Just seeing Mason's name made her roll her eyes until she remembered that she was gonna talk to him whether she actually wanted to or not, but not without a proper apology. She sighed opening her phone to see the messages from Mason, wondering what he thought was good enough to say to make her reply back. Let's hope whatever he has to say is worth it. Mason: I'm sorry for how I acted, let me take you out for ice cream to make up for it. ...what the hell did he think this
Noah and Sophie had ordered their boba and Sophie was already feeling better as she took a sip from her boba tasting the mix between the sugary tapioca and the strawberry milk, what an amazing combination. She walked with Noah from the boba shop down the distance to Chic Fil-A, She looks at his drink having taken a picture so she could post it on Instagram. "I didn't know you like boba, you don't seem like the type." Sophie says and Noah shakes his head at that looking over at her "You could never tell what anyone likes just based off of how they look, It's impossible," He says and Sophie shrugs causing him to raise an eyebrow at him "No, really. it's like me seeing someone I don't actually know yet and saying 'Oh wow, you don't strike me as the type to be sexual.' and then they show up with their 6 kids and it's like 'Well shit, sorry for assuming I didn't know you birthed a little soccer team.' assuming makes an ass out of you." Noah says and Sophie can't help but laugh, he
Casper pulled into the parking lot of their house and Sophie gets out walking inside, she felt so much better today despite what happened with Mason. She couldn't lie, there was definitely something very soothing and genuine about Noah that Sophie couldn't help but admire. He single handedly came and made what was her worst day so far into a very good day, she smiled making her way into the house to sit down at the dinner table smelling the pasta sauce and meatballs being made. "Mama, we're home." Casper declares looking over at their mom who was in the kitchen conversating with their aunt Donna, both women turned around smiling at the return of Casper and Sophie "Welcome back Sophie darling, how did your day go.." Their mother asked kissing her forehead, she bit her lip as she recalled the outing with Mason before she smiled again recalling all the laughs and good vibes from Noah. "It went well, minor inconvenience but nothing too bad." She says and her mom nods her head turning to
Ring ring, get up or you'll be late for school. Get upppp, clock is ticking Sophie wakes up to her alarm going off and she has to sit for a moment to let her eyes adjust, an intense feeling of stress taking over her. She clutches her head before she gets up going into the bathroom, she brushed her hair and her teeth rinsing her face as she got dressed. Going with a yellow pencil skirt and a white V-neck shirt and her black slippers, nothing too crazy. She was happy that her school didn't require uniform, She leaves her room to go to the kitchen seeing her aunt talking with Casper who smiled over at her. "Hey sis, looking cute today." He says and she smiles at him "Feeling cute today." She says in response looking over at her mom who admires her today and she sighs fondly giving her a hug "Mom, why do you always look at me as if you're seeing me for the first time?" She asks softly and her mom smiles caressing her cheek. "I am, because in my head you're that precious little g
"Alright that was a good warm-up. rest before we get into the practice!" The coach declared and everyone sat out of the warm up room drinking water and taking much needed break before the practice today, even if the team was very good they still have to be able to go up against the actual big league football team. This was just baby steps before the boss fight, Casper sits down on a bench and Noah smiles breathing heavy "Good luck today, Casper." Noah says and Casper smiles at him giving the football nod of acknowledgment "Same to you Noah, even if this is just practice. Would hate to lose such a valuable player to the team." Casper says and Noah looks at him, the fondness in his words having gotten to him. "I shall stay my best self, Casper. That's a promise." Noah says and then they're both laughing, he hears the screeching of tires and he steps outside followed by Casper before deciding it's not his place to run over and greet them. He sees Casper run over to them and his cheery
