Chapter 85

Aria's POV

"Food," I heard someone say from behind the door and I stood from my bed. I walked over to the door and opened it. I then looked to the ground and saw a small plate wrapped in tin foil. I made to pick up the plate when one of the two guards standing beside my door spoke.

"Don't try to run like you did last time, Luna Aria," he said as he turned his head slightly to face me. His face was blank and deviod of any emotion. He gripped tight the spear in his hands and said, "King Ryder ordered that I make sure you are not able to do so again if you do."

I didn't know what to say to the guard. If he had said this kind of thing to me four days ago, he would have been picked up and thrown into the dungeon, never to see the light of day again. But now, he could say all of these without receiving as much as a scolding.
