Chapter 53

Rebecca went straight to her doctor's office when she was dropped off at the door of the hospital. “I have an appointment with Dr. Smith,” she told the receptionist.

“Rebecca,” she heard Sandy say from beside her. She turned and gave the doctor a smile. “Come with me.” Rebecca followed her through a door and down the hallway to an exam room. When she sat on the bed, Sandy took a seat on a rolling stool. “So, what’s going on? You don’t need to be here until next month,” she gave Rebecca a worried look.

Rebecca took a deep breath, “I think I’m gaining too much weight,” she told her. “I mean I know everyone gains at different rates but I just have a feeling,” she shrugged. Sandy nodded her head.

“Okay,” she opened a file in her hand, “your HcG levels were a little higher than they normally are at your last appointment. How bad is your morning sickness?”
