I'm Your Next Contacted Girlfriend.

"Girls who are we talking about? Mind to share?"

That came as a shock and they both sat upright. They were not expecting their Grandma to be awake by that time and God knows how long she's been there, listening to their conversation.

"Good morning, Grandma",they both chorused as they stood up to help the old lady. She moved in with ease on her wheelchair and smiled at the before giving a reply.

"Good morning Avery, good morning my dear Aviva."

Unlike the rest, she was fond of calling Ava by her full name, Aviva. Everyone else addressed her as Ava even at her workplace. Everyone one in the house was more fond of Ava because she was the good one. Avery was known for her blabbing and rude behaviour, although there's still some good in her.

"Grandma, want some coffee?", Avery asked trying so hard to act like a good girl and not get on anyone's nerve this morning.

"No, thank you. Aviva will make my favorite tea for me" she replied grinning widely showing her once-perfect dentition. She had grey hairs already and has been in a wheelchair ever since she clocked seventy. She is eighty and still strong for her age.

"Of course, so much for trying to help out. Ava, we will talk later. I'm going to my room, have a nice day grandma with your 'oh so lovely' granddaughter", Avery frowned and dashed out of the kitchen.

Grandma stared at the door and Ava went to squat in front of her.

"Don't worry grandma, she didn't mean that."

"You think I cared about whatever stunt your sister just displayed? Boy, I'm too old for that", she spoke and the two women hearty laughter was heard in the kitchen.

Ava grabbed a chair and drew it closer to the old lady. When there was a little distance between them, she threw a glance at the door before she went on to say what she wanted to say.

"Grandma, I wanted to discuss something with you last night but I decided to leave it till this morning."

"About Nathan? I heard it all, I was there for a long, long time."

Ava became tensed and felt hot all of a sudden. She felt her throat dry up and she became short of words while the old lady just sat there watching her every move. She smiled at her and placed her hand on Ava's shoulder.

"Sweetheart, whatever you decide to do, just know I'm your biggest supporter. I trust you will make a the right choice just has you did in the past. It's up to you now, Aviva."

The moment she said that, Ava calmed down and her muscles relaxed. The tension was now gone and a smile was on her lips. She drew the old lady into a hug and thanked her for everything she had been doing. Grandma kept patting her back while she listened to her. They sat there for awhile in that position until she spoke up.

"Aviva, if you continue hugging me this tight, I'm afraid I might have no bones left in my fragile body."

Ava immediately left her embrace and they giggled. She made tea for the old while they talked about Nathan.

"So you want to give it a try? I'm not saying you shouldn't, but I just don't want to see you heartbroken if you get rejected on your first time."

"That's the weird thing grandma, I feel I will try harder when I get rejected. I don't know why but I'm certain things would work out."

"Have you tried contacting him? What did he say when you called him?"

Damn. She had forgotten about giving him a call. How could such an important thing slip her mind?

Grandma watched her run out of the kitchen with a speed of light.

"What is wrong with her? One can never tell with this young people", grandma thought out loud and took a sip of her tea.

"Aahh, just how I like it. Aviva you are such a darling."

She was still in the kitchen sipping her tea and talking about how good it tasted to no one in particular before Ava walked in with her phone.

"So, it was your phone you went to get? And you ran out like you had seen a ghost or something."

"Sorry grandma. I wanted to call him yesterday or send a message but I was already asleep before I knew it."

"It's fine, make the call now."

Ava inhaled and exhaled before she picked up her phone. She was about dialing his number before she stopped halfway and stared at the old lady who fixed her gaze on her.

    "What is it?"

"Grandma, what if he's at work and.. I don't want to look jobless calling someone by this time like I have no work to do myself."

" Aviva, make the call now."

   "But grandma.."

The old lady raised her hand up and whispered "No buts.. make the phone call now, you never can tell unless you do it."

Ava became determined, her grandma was right. What's the worst that could happen? She's going to make this call and speak confidently about what she wants without fear.

Minutes passed and she was yet to do nothing. Her hands were trembling and beads of sweat formed on her face. She looked at the old lady and dropped her phone on the table, she was going to give an excuse again.

   "What is it?"

"Grandma what if he's asleep and I..."

" Make the damn phone call, Ava" the women yelled.

She was surprised, she didn't see her sister come back in to the kitchen. She gazed from one to the other and decided it would be unwise to keep the two women waiting. They were throwing deathly stares at her and she gulped down saliva picking up the phone again. The line rang and the three women waited patiently for Nathan to pick up.

Immediately the call connected, a deep, husky voice was heard.

    "Hello? Who's this please?"

Ava was lost of words for a few seconds. What will she say? What is she supposed to say? How does she go about it? Her grandma and sister were gesturing at her to speak up but it seems she had lost her voice.

The person on the other end was beginning to get impatient.

   "Hello.. are you there?"

Ava exhaled and hung up. Her grandma and sister glared at her.

"Why did you hang up on him? What happened Ava? Why didn't you say a word? Why...", The women asked so many questions in a second. Why? So many whys, she didn't know which to answer first.

"Now listen to me young lady, you will take up that phone and call him again. This time you will answer sweetly and go straight to the point. Am I understood?"

"Yes, grandma", she nodded and stared at her sister who nodded at her to go on. She picked up her phone again and called him.

There was no response the first time and she looked at her grandma as if saying she had given up already.

"You deserved that. You were lucky enough for him to pick up but then what did you do? You didn't say a word and ended up hanging up on him. Call him again, you can't give up now."

She called again and he picked up at the second ring.

    "Hello?"

 "Hello, Mr Nathan?"

"Yes, Nathan and you are?"

"I'm your next contracted girlfriend, Mr Nathan."
