"It was… I don’t know, ma’am. It was an order from a phone call, and I was paid through an anonymous account. I don’t know who ordered it, ma’am. Please don’t call the cops on me," Marie begged as she scrambled on her knees.

Talia was in utter dismay. Marie was ordered. Who could have gone to such lengths just to want her dead? She couldn’t think of anyone except Sophie.

"Was it a female voice?" Talia asked calmly.

No, ma’am, it was definitely a male. Please, ma’am, don’t call the cops on me. I have a kid, a little girl." Marie continued pleading.

Talia felt pity for her. "I’m not calling the cops on you, Marie, but I’m afraid you can’t work here anymore. I can’t be sure you won’t try to harm me again." Talia added before she finally walked back to her room.

It wasn’t a woman but a man who ordered the hit. How come? It should have been Sophie. She was the one who pushed her into the pool. Or maybe it was her, but she ordered someone else to make the phone call? Probably her assistant,
