16. Bouncing Emotions

I nearly roll my eyes at Christian’s blatant display of jealousy and peer up at him. Why does this man have to look so handsome and smell so great while annoying the hell out of me?

“Christian! I didn’t think you’d make it,” I say and plaster a fake smile on my face. His grip on my waist tightens and an apologetic look crosses his face.

“Sorry about that, my flight was delayed,” he says, then turns his attention back to Oliver. “And, this is?”

“Oliver Thomas,” Oliver introduces himself to Mr. Grumpy with that ever-present smile on his face. “Leia and I were just in a deep discussion about Christmas trees.”

This causes a giggle to spill over my lips again and I quickly try to stifle it by biting my bottom lip. Oliver sees my face and winks at my reaction while Christian wears a visible scowl.

“Oliver, this is Christian Moore. He’s -”

“Her husband,” Christian interjects, causing me to roll my eyes again.

Ah but she should have told her hubby no matter how hot & cold their relationship might be the truth, spending time with her mom. I feel like his true to put n effort n their relationship.
