Chapter 33: Right Into Danger

Nyx's POV

I felt all the blood in my face drain in seconds, I was suddenly pallid and was just staring back at those eyes in the woods.

Then suddenly, whomever it was that those pair of red eyes belonged to turned away from me and disappeared into thin air.

I staggered backwards, gasping violently for air. I had been terrified that I forgot how to breath.

"What creature was that anyway?" I asked rhetorically, looking around in horror.

"I better get out of here" I muttered within myself and began hurrying out of the bush, my heart palpitating in trepidation.

I heard the leaves ruffle again and increased my pace. For all I know, the creature might still be lurking about and the worst thing I would do is to stop or even slow down in the middle of nowhere.

"What if it is a rogue? I'm certain it wouldn't waste a second in tearing me apart and as expected, I will be too weak to fight back"
