Chapter 22

It was no surprise that I woke up with a banging headache and a drained body. For a few addled seconds, I had no idea what had happened or where I was but as soon as the drowsiness wore off, my mind started to recall what had happened on the street. Ignoring the fact that my whole energy was down to near zero, I forced myself to sit upright. There was no time to rest now especially when I found myself being in a strange, unknown place. 

My surroundings were more beautiful than I’d expected. From a little perk from Tiffany’s mind, Ryker was supposed to live in a small, uncomfortable motel room. This was more like a studio if anything. The bed was humongous, and the dresser and the nightstands were made of expensive oak wood. All of the things and furniture inside this room smelled of money. On one side of the room, there were bookshelves built into the walls. They were filled with books. <
