Draven had been gone for twenty minutes when this text arrived. Despite his younger brother’s attempt to convince him that everything was under control, Javier felt that there was something that his brother wasn’t telling him. He was debating whether he should stay there and get the answer out of Draven or actually listen to his brother’s advice and go home with Ella.

“Maybe we should listen to him,” said Ella who glanced at his phone’s screen from beside him as he tilted his phone for her to see. “Clara seems to trust him, Jiev. And I know you want to be here and find out what truly is going on but it might not be a good thing after all.”

He turned to his wife. A frown nestled on his forehead as he regarded her with both amusement and curiosity. “What do you mean?”
