He will kill his first-born pup, the words repeated within my mind at an erratic rate.

I abruptly pulled my body out of the bed, the duvet tangled around my legs as an intense nauseous feeling swept over me as I leaned over the bed and fell from the cushioned surface. My hands and knees caught my fall as I buckled over and dry heaved onto the foreign floor, nothing would rise from my throat as nothing was contained within my stomach. I wiped the saliva from my mouth as I tilted my head up and was finally aware of my surroundings, crème sheer curtains decorated the floor-length windows that allowed the daylight to leek through and brightened the room and yet all I felt was a feeling of dread within the pits of my stomach.
