"Hey, Zee, just checking in. Are you sure you can handle dinner on your own?" Nicolas' voice crackled through the phone.

I rolled my eyes, playfully wielding a spatula. "Nic, I promise not to burn the kitchen down. Again."

Tonight, I called my brothers, the reason being I missed them. I was reading a book and the siblings in the said book reminded me of my two over protective brothers. So, I ended up calling them while preparing dinner for myself.

Lorenzo chimed in, his concern echoing through the phone. "You know, sorellina , it wouldn't hurt to come back home."

I stirred the pot on the stove, a smile playing on my lips. "Enzo, I have a life out here, you know. Not everything revolves around home-cooked meals and family drama."
