Chapter 118

AIDEN

There was a rush in my very being as I was trying to make sure that I could get to Ellie before the news of me and Gina would get to her. It felt like my rush would all end up being in vain as I was trying not to let it all get to me.

At that point, I was beginning to rehearse the words I would use in explaining myself, just in case it turned out that I hadn't been quick enough.

I was almost pulling over like I had robbed a bank. I just hoped I wouldn't be asked too many questions about that as all of that was beginning to make me lose my cool. I was willing to do anything to make that save happen.

There wasn't any time to look back as I got out of the car and made my way to the front door which I opened with my key, as I felt like knocking would only go on to waste the little time I had even more.

"What's all this about?" Mother asked as she was thinking of what could have been making me run like there was some fire I was trying to put out somewhere. "What's gotten into you?"
