Chapter Fifty Four

Vikrant stirred, frowned as he tried to stretch his legs but couldn't and forced his eyes to open. He growled under his breath when he saw that his legs were chained and glanced at Sarita who was sleeping beside him but she wasn't fully relaxed as her face was pinched.

There was no window in the room which now looked more like a shed instead of an actual room because it looked too big to be a bedroom in a wooden house. He couldn't tell if the sun was out, what day it was and for how long they'd been here. He was thirsty, hungry and he didn't like the smell coming from his body or worse... his mouth.

The door opened and Enzo came in carrying a tray of food, dropped it on the floor and kicked it towards Vikrant, said nothing and walked out and locked the door. Vikrant drew the tray close to him, raised the lid and grimaced when he saw the food; just one ugly looking sandwich. He sighed and shook his head then gently shook Sarita awake.
