There! Her first day of seeing him and she pulled off ignoring him. Even though he had gotten up on the table and announced a party. She could pat herself on the back. Great first day effort Lacey. Tom had his party. And it was exactly what he wanted. Something to get his mind off of Lacey. But by morning everything came flooding back with a massive headache. So for another fix, he looked forward to Tate's party. Where he did it all again. Drank, got drunk and had a hell of a night until morning. Guilty and fidgeting, the freshman looked around the library hoping no one was looking his way. Two other boys approached him looking more excited than him. "We're all here. Let's go." Lacey opened up her locker and her eyes instantly fell on the items that had been left there. A neatly folded note and a pink rose. Could it be? Has Tom lost his mind and decided to leave a note and a rose in her locker? She took out the note, looked around the crowded hallway for any sign of the girls before she opened it. 'A Rose for you my lovely. Forgive the past and let us shape the future together. Lovely Lacey, I miss you. Please go out with me tonight and we can talk about everything and clear up everything. I miss you. I'll play you a new piece I did. Dennis.' Seeing the name written below it, she sighed. He was writing poems now? It wasn't even poetry, it was just words. The fact that the word 'lovely' was in there was enough to know it wasn't Tom. Frankly, it was disappointing. At least it wasn't Tom. Imagine if someone saw Tom opening her locker. She looked at her with an itch to say something mean. Something terrible to hurt her feelings. Her intended victim didn't know what was coming. Not until she passed three sinks and stood beside her. She folded her arms, rested her weight on her left hip and glared at the mirror. The small smile on her victim's face vanished when she looked up at the mirror and saw her glaring at her. "Why are you here?" Was that rhetorical? She freed one hand and pointed at her in the mirror. "Seriously. Why are you here? And I don't mean in the restroom, I mean at this school. Lacey's right hand held up her head while she waited patiently for their next teacher to walk into the classroom. With each passing second, she got bored. It was easy to just pick a side and listen to the endless chatter that the other students were bringing up. But she didn't feel like it. And neither did she feel like going to sit with the girls. She let out a puff of air and closed her eyes slowly. When she opened her eyes again, there was a junior student nervously looking at her. "Umm... are you Lacey?
