TWENTY-SEVEN A

The three guys looked at each other. "He can't be here now, he's got more than thirty minutes." The driver looked at his watch. Tension was rising.

"Then who could it be? Are any of you expecting anyone?" The talker asked. There was another knock on the door. "Yeah! Who is it?" Talker walked towards the door.

"It's Tom." The voice sounded weak. "Open up. I've got the money."

There was a collective sigh of relief. "Would you look at that. Your girlfriend's involved and it takes you less than the amount of time we mentioned. Should have done this long ago." The dragger said from behind the talker. "Go back dude, I want to open the door."

The talker nodded. "You should have come around a little later. I think I would have had your girl under my arm by then." Lacey glanced at him and turned away. The driver and dragger laughed.

The dragger opened up the door, and saw two other people instead of Tom. "What the... Who are you, what do you want?"
