Emily attempted to walk me to the living room but on the way she changed her mind because she turns around, pauses and raises her face up in thoughts for some seconds. I begin to wonder what this means until she opens up. "Would you love to go somewhere different from the living room, somewhere you have not been before?" She steadied her gaze on me to have a response, it's time for me to make my decision, I go into some thoughts. First of all, I didn't even have the appetite to watch TV, I always had at other times but right now, it's not there. I think of any other place inside this estate that can be of interest to me, my mind is taken to the library. I love reading books, romance novels and secondly, I'd love to go here because it would be serene and a perfect place for discussion with Emily. No disturbance from anyone. "What if we go to the library, do you guys have one here? Oh! I'm sorry." What an awkward question, to ask if such an expensive penthouse doesn't have a library.
Emily as if I asked her to or knowing the thought inside of me stands and begins to walk closer to me. She takes her seat beside me, tapping on my laps and giving me a sorrowful but an assuring glare. What's wrong? She understands my gaze, and decides to speak up. I didn't ask her anything outwardly so I'm thinking what she's about to say. Could it be anything that has to do with Adrian? I don't feel the reason she should shoot me this terrible glare, terrible in the fact that it's gloomy for a happy day like this. "I think you have something to say?" I ask, upon her hesitation to speak up. She still fixes her eyes on me, each time she parts her lips to say something, she ends up closing it back, retaining what she had to say. I can no longer bear with it, I decided to ask. "Yeah," she exhales heavily. "Actually, uhmm!" Her voice suddenly goes mute keeping me puzzled at what's really going on. "Come on, what's the issue?" "I didn't mean to tell you this but I can't bear it." My
If Adrian doesn't love me, then why did he buy such an expensive jeep for me? Is it just to compensate me? Perhaps this is the reason. Then I recall how he says no one should know about our relationship, is it because of the woman, or truly his parents as he claimed? So they wouldn't know? I sigh heavily, then turn back to Emily. "His behavior creates room for more suspicion." "That's just the truth I'm telling you, take it or leave it. I know you might want to doubt since I have the reputation of being talkative." She smirks, twitching her lips and giving me a pitiable look. "You might think I'm lying but if not that I just told you, you would surely realize it later but it might be too disastrous then." "Wait, he told me that you were a talkative and he feared you would say something you are not supposed to say, why did he still pair you up with me and not another of your cousins since he might be jealous to let me spend some time with one of his brothers?" "Hmmm," she shakes he
Estella Mateo. The young man in charge of announcing the names of the next lady to go in calls. I rise up from the row of seats where other ladies are waiting for their names to be called. The door of the lobby to which the experiment is going on opens and the lady before me walks out with a smile on her face. I wonder how good the boss was, sure it will be a great experience even though I don't get this job at the end of the day.A week ago, I was scrolling through the online magazine, Daily Media when I came upon an advert that the CEO of Erionz Editorials, name and identity withheld was in need of a sexy female escort whose two major duties would be to act as a girlfriend upon his attendance of events and also good sex whenever he needed it. The pay got my eyes damn well. A whopping three hundred thousand dollars monthly. Who would decline such an offer? Only if I get to be chosen because there would surely be lots of applications for this. I opted in for it and was quite lucky to
I travel back to my residence on Madison Avenue, it's a forty minutes drive. This reminds me of the fact that my time with Adrian wasn't actually thirty minutes as stipulated but an hour. I could track the time from what's hit on my watch now I've arrived home and getting off the time left which is taken for the time I spent with him. The taxi drops me by the side of the road, from here I walk through the pavement to my family's three-room apartment which I share with my sisters, Brenda, twenty-eight and Alexandria, twenty. They are the only family I've got since our parents left us when we were pretty much younger. I don't hold them up in my mind with hate as I did Adrian, but I'm most disgusted with their attitude towards their birth children. After they got divorced, they remarried one month after each to the love of their life they had been secretly dating while still with each other. What a shameful act! This is one major reason I'll always be irritated when I remember this. The
Finally the three days wait is over. Today is the day I had been waiting for, having a sleepless night over. The successful candidate would be published on the company's official website, the end of the great expectation of all the girls who came for this. I was able to convince my sisters to accept this lucrative job if I'm lucky enough to be chosen. They did actually but warned me never to fall in love with the man who broke my heart. No matter how I want to prolong checking the outcome of the interview, due to anxiety and the need to evade disappointment if I didn't make it to the final list, I got to. My sisters gather beside me, on both sides as I log into the account I created on Adrian's company official website. It doesn't take up to a second and the login successfully notification pops up, on top of my screen. I scroll sideways to the final list button. "Girls close your eyes!" I close my eyes as I hit the check list button. Oh God, I need your help right now! I breathe i
Last night was memorable, though I intended to leave at eleven, I stayed up till 1 AM. We got so overwhelmed by the euphoria of the evening and the after-party that we lost count of the time. I thought I wouldn't sleep well due to the few hours left before dawn, surprisingly I had a great sleep. It's time to pack my clothes and belongings into luggages, both girls set in to assist me. Adrian promised to send in a car to come pick me up and any moment from now, it will arrive. I look up to the clock in the world, it's 8:53 AM. I finish up with everything and I just have to wait for Adrian's car to arrive. Sure, he's not going to be the one to drive but one of his drivers. "Girl, I'm just so surprised at how you made it to the final list." I look up at Brenda with a smile on my lips. I thought she said he was gonna reject me because of what happened three years ago. It didn't turn out as she said, but I know she said this out of true concern. All my mind tells me now is that I'm not
The Limo slowly pulls up before a tall glass and steel residential estate. I expected to see the building where the interview took place but here is a different one, far more beautiful and luxurious than the other. "He has many houses?" I ask Luke. Immediately this escaped my mouth, I saw how lame the question was. A billionaire CEO can't have only one house! I felt I just needed to speak. Luke responds only with a nod and we return to our previous silence. I'm not a great talker and from the way I see, he isn't one either but both of us were comfortable watching the TV. I attempt to open the door and step out upon its stoppage at the garage but he abruptly opens his side, seeing him walk over to mine, I knew he wanted to assist me."Thanks!" I mutter as I step out, at least I haven't lost my manners. He places a nod before his actual you're welcome. "Mr Cameron would love to see you now!" His tone changes to the most professional, unlike the casual way he talked to my sisters and I
