CARLA

I felt frozen just staring at Diego, who stood outside the door, looking back at me.

He looked like one who was astonished to see me after that day at the engagement party.

But his eyes came dimming in a broad and displeased way.

He was glaring at me with his gaze lingering on my body from head to toe.

When I saw this, I immediately remembered I was putting on a short and singlet.

That got me feeling embarrassed, stepping back with my right arm going against my chest, shielding it from his eyes.

"Oh, Carla. I didn't know you were joining us. How are you?" Mr Smith, who happened to be behind Diego, came into the house, smiling at me.

"Great. I'm doing just fine," I answered, trying not to look at Diego.

He just stepped into the house like I didn't exist, making his way to my Mom, who came out from the dining to welcome them.

"Oh goody! You made it Diego. How was the office?" Mom asked, giving Diego a hug.

"The usual," He responded to her.
